Bianca Belair Suffers Injury, Pulled From NXT Women’s Title No. 1 Contender’s Match

Bianca Belair

According to WWE, Bianca Belair is injured.

It was announced on this week’s episode of NXT that there would be a Fatal 4-Way Match this coming Wednesday to determine the No. 1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship held by Shayna Baszler, with Belair, Candice LeRae, Kairi Sane, and Nikki Cross as the participants.

In a video posted today by WWE, Sarah Schreiber reports that due to injury, Belair will not participate in next week’s NXT Women’s Title No. 1 Contender’s Match since she has not been medically cleared to compete.

Schreiber did not offer any details on her Belair’s injury, only saying to stay tuned to for updates on her condition.

That match has now become a Triple Threat Match between LeRae, Sane, and Cross. The winner of the match will earn a title opportunity at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn on August 18. Click here for’s preview of the match.

Belair’s reported injury is likely a work. She last wrestled at an NXT television event on June 16, beating Dakota Kai in a match taped before NXT TakeOver: Chicago II.

The Triple Threat Match was filmed on June 21 in Orlando, Florida. Then two days later, Belair got married to fellow NXT Superstar Montez Ford.

So, Belair’s reported injury is most likely a cover for her missing the television tapings to get ready for her wedding.

Even while on her honeymoon, Belair made time to sound off on the NXT Women’s Division. She also touted her undefeated record (on NXT television).

Belair is back from her honeymoon and she returned to action at last night’s NXT live event in Tampa, Florida.

Alongside Lacey Evans and Vanessa Borne, the trio lost to LeRae, Jessica Elaban and Xia Li in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match.
