- WWE contacted Chris Jericho on January 19th and asked him to be a surprise entrant for the 30-man Royal Rumble main event but he declined the offer. Jericho is currently working some WWE live events but has wanted his return to TV to mean something more than just a quick appearance.
- We noted before that Titus O'Neil's four second elimination at the WWE Royal Rumble was supposed to be just one second but there was a timing issue with Titus, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Vince McMahon was said to be furious over the mistake as it was the only spot that was supposed to be timed perfectly and it was messed up.
