WWE Says Liv Morgan Suffered A Concussion On Raw; A Lot Of Backstage Notes On Her Injury

Brie Bella and Liv Morgan

Just three weeks after hurting herself on Raw from a pair of missed suicide dive attempts, we’re reporting about Brie Bella again for all the wrong reasons.

During a Six-Woman Tag Team Match on Raw this week pitting The Bella Twins and Natalya against The Riott Squad, Brie appeared to injure Liv Morgan.

There was a spot in the match where Brie nailed Morgan with a series of “Yes!” kicks. Two of her kicks missed the mark and appeared to knock out Morgan since she got hit in the head.

Immediately following the errant kicks, Brie went to cover Morgan but had to quickly pull herself off her after she did not respond.

Despite appearing to get knocked unconscious, Morgan remained in the match until Raw cut to a commercial break. She even took part in a triple suplex while she was still trying to recover (as seen below).

Following the commercial break, Michael Cole explained that Morgan was taken to the backstage area to get evaluated by WWE medical staff.

According to Fightful, Morgan underwent a series of tests to determine if she suffered a concussion and it is said that she had trouble remembering the incident. The referee was told on his earpiece from WWE officials at Gorilla Position to keep Morgan out of the match. Logan had to help her out of the ring while Riott was in the ring calling the match on the fly. As much of a mess as the match was, the concern was only for Morgan.

Morgan returned to the ring apron and jumped into a triple suplex spot that she wasn’t supposed to since she was being told to leave the ring. Riott and Logan had to physically restrain her at ringside after the move and talk to her to ensure that she’d remain out of the ring until the end of the match or help arrived.

Later in the match, there was a spot where Brie was to be catapulted into a forearm from Riott, but ended up nailing her in the mouth instead (as seen below).

Based on people Fightful spoke to, there doesn’t appear to be any bad blood between Brie and Morgan. Brie repeatedly apologized to Liv backstage. On the other hand, they were told that Logan and Riott “looked” unhappy over the situation.

Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch claimed in his subscribers-only audio review of Raw that Riott and Logan were “pissed off” with Brie backstage.

Contrary to other reports and Cole’s commentary, Morgan was not immediately taken backstage after getting knocked out. She remained at ringside through the end of the match since she was being tended to by Dr. Chris Amann. Immediately after the match, Logan and Riott checked on her.

Following the match, Brie took to Twitter to express remorse that she took her foe out of the match the way she did, adding that her thoughts are with Liv despite being at odds in recent weeks.

Some people backstage claimed the Morgan was “OK,” but WWE issued a statement tonight confirming that she sustained a concussion.

The statement, which was issued to F4WOnline, TMZ and other sites, reads: “Liv Morgan has a concussion and is going through the proper protocol under WWE’s comprehensive wellness program.”

Morgan will be out of action until she passes the WWE & ImPACT Concussion Management Program and there is no way to estimate a time frame for that.
