“Mean” Gene Okerlund Says Bobby Heenan Is Still Alive

There were apparently rumors online that WWE Hall of Famer Bobby Heenan had recently passed away.That is not the case as legendary announcer “Mean” Gene Okerlund posted a message on Facebook on Monday shooting down the rumors.

“Bobby Heenan is very much alive,” Okerlund wrote. “I’ll be seeing him and his loving wife in a couple of weeks. Heenan is one man that fans loved to hate. And that’s a good thing.”

Heenan was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2002 and had reconstructive surgery on his jaw in 2007. He still makes public appearances, albeit on occasion.
