Mia Yim

Mia Yim is making waves in her second Mae Young Classic appearance on WWE Network, but the Classic isn’t the only place you can find Yim as she made her NXT live event debut on Saturday night in Fort Pierce, Florida.

The Mae Young Classic competitor dazzled fans in Fort Pierce, showing off her immense skill as she beat Aliyah in a singles match.

Humbled by the response she received in her live event debut between the yellow ropes, Yim took to social media to reflect on an incredible night.

It was her first match since reporting to the WWE Performance Center on September 17 to begin her first day of training. Her signing was confirmed after she appeared in a video WWE tweeted of female talent working out.

Yim, who is 29 years old, brings nearly a decade of wrestling experience to WWE. She is best known for her time in IMPACT Wrestling under the name Jade, where she held the Knockouts Championship once. Yim has also worked for Ring of Honor (ROH), independent promotions such as Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Shimmer Women Athletes, and Shine Wrestling, and in Japan for Reina Joshi Puroresu.

After losing to Shayna Baszler in the Second Round of last year’s Mae Young Classic, Yim returned for this year’s tournament and drew “Please sign Mia” chants from fans at last month’s tapings. She beat Allysin Kay in a First-Round Match to advance to the Second Round against former WWE Superstar Kaitlyn.
