Title Change At Thursday’s NXT Tapings (Spoiler)

Undisputed ERA’s Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly defeated The Street Profits to win the NXT Tag Team Championship at last night’s NXT tapings at Full Sail Live in Orlando, Florida.

Fish and O’Reilly hit their finisher, Total Elimination, to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. Fans celebrated the win, but chanted “Thank you Profits” as well.

This was a rematch from NXT TakeOver: Toronto, where Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford retained the NXT Tag Team Championship against Fish and O’Reilly. There was a segment on this week’s episode of NXT where Fish and O’Reilly angrily confronted William Regal backstage at TakeOver over the illegal man being pinned in the match. Fish tagged into the bout prior to O’Reilly being pinned.

The Street Profits held the NXT Tag Team Championship since defeating Fish and O’Reilly, The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake), and the team of Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match at TakeOver: XXV in June to capture the then-vacant titles.

The Street Profits made their main roster debut on the July 1 episode of Raw. They’ve appeared in backstage segments but have yet to wrestle on the main roster. There’s no word yet if they’re permanently leaving NXT for the main roster.
