Two matches were taped for this Wednesday’s episode of NXT before TakeOver: Brooklyn IV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Pete Dunne retained the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Zack Gibson and Bianca Belair defeated Deonna Purrazzo.
Dunne vs. Gibson is a rematch from the second day of WWE’s back-to-back NXT U.K. Championship events at London’s world-famous Royal Albert Hall in June. Dunne retained the WWE United Kingdom Championship in that match as well after Gibson won the United Kingdom Championship Tournament the night before.
On the latest episode of NXT, it was mentioned that Belair would be returning soon from injury (which is a storyline injury). Belair actually went on hiatus because she got married to Montez Ford in June, then went on a honeymoon, and was left off the prior set of television tapings on July 18. This will be Purrazzo’s first televised match in NXT since signing with WWE. She was also one of the participants in the Mae Young Classic earlier this month.
In addition to the two matches, this Wednesday’s episode will feature fallout from TakeOver: Brooklyn IV with video packages and post-match interviews. The next set of NXT tapings takes place this Thursday at Full Sail Live in Winter Park, Florida.
