Pre-Attitude Era Tag Team Returning for Smackdown Run?

The Headbangers

Former WWE Tag Team Champions Mosh and Thrasher – collectively known as the ‘Headbangers’ – could be on their way back to WWE. Mosh [real name Chazz Worthington] and Thrasher [real name Glenn Ruth] made the announcement on Facebook late Friday night:

The Headbangers could be returning to compete in the Smackdown Tag Team Championship tournament. The tournament – originally consisting of six teams – is currently comprised of seven tag teams including the unlikely duo of Heath Slater and Rhyno. For anyone too young to remember, the Headbangers debuted for WWE in 1996 as part of the “New Generation,” and won the tag team titles at Ground Zero in September 1997. Ruth was released in 2000 and Worthington in 2001.
