As seen last Monday on Raw, former Divas Champion Maryse emerged from the crowd to assist The Miz in capturing Intercontinental Championship from Zack Ryder.
This was the first time that Maryse had appeared on WWE television since since parting ways with the organization in October 2011. Her return on Raw was followed by an appearance on SmackDown.
The reason for Maryse’s return reportedly revolves around the E! television reality series Total Divas. According to F4WOnline.com, Maryse has now been cast as a main character on the next season of the show, a move that is one of several cast changes for the series.
Joining Maryse next season as full-time cast members will be Renee Young and Lana. Naomi will also return to the show full-time after being dumped prior to the current season of the show. The changes don’t come without some reductions, as Alicia Fox, Mandy Rose, and Rosa Mendes have all been dropped.
Maryse and The Miz, who began dating during her first run with the company, were married in February 2014. It seems a fair bet that The Miz, who is a former reality television star himself, will appear on Total Divas as a semi-recurring character similar to Daniel Bryan, Jimmy Uso and Tyson Kidd.
