Rob Van Dam Visits WWE Headquarters?; Why He’ll Probably Never Wrestle For WWE Again

Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam apparently paid a visit to WWE’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut last Thursday. His girlfriend, indie wrestler Katie Forbes, Instagrammed these photos of herself at Titan Towers.

Forbes documented her trip on Instagram Stories and while she was en route to Connecticut from New York, Van Dam could be seen traveling with her in a video she posted.

The most likely scenario is Van Dam getting interviewed for the WWE Network, especially now with the “Collections” feature highlighting wrestlers with long noteworthy careers.

Now 47 years old, RVD remains active on the independent wrestling circuit. However, it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever see him wrestle for WWE again.

According to a story by celebrity news site TheBlast.com last December, a “visual impairment” caused by a concussion Van Dam suffered in November 2016 has “disqualified [him] from working for WWE,” as per the terms outlined in the company’s Concussion Management Program protocol. The claims were made in papers filed as part of Van Dam’s divorce proceedings with his ex-wife Sonya.

The former WWE and ECW Champion suffered the affliction while wrestling Pentagon Jr. in England for Preston City Wrestling. However, he was wrestling again the following month.

Van Dam claimed he has “aged out” of wrestling partly because of his inability to rejoin WWE, which has “substantially reduced” his income. RVD argued that he should pay less than what Sonya is demanding because he can no longer make a good income in the wrestling business. He also feels that Sonya is capable of earning her own income.

RVD last worked for WWE in August 2014. He also noted that WWE chose not to renew his merchandising contract last July.
