The daughter of WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon Levesque (born Stephanie Marie McMahon on September 24, 1976) is a professional wrestling valet, occasional wrestler, minority owner, and Chief Brand Officer of WWE. She has worked for the sports-entertainment organization since 1998.
Stephanie began appearing as a television character for WWE in 1999—then known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) — in a storyline with The Undertaker. Following a brief on-screen relationship with Test, she got engaged to Triple H—whom she married both on-screen and later in real life — which led to the memorable McMahon-Helmsley Faction storyline. In 2001, she was the owner of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) in The Invasion storyline. She became the General Manager of SmackDown the following year, but stopped appearing as a regular television character after losing an “I Quit” Match to her father at the 2003 edition of No Mercy. She held the WWF Women’s Championship one time in 2000.
After making irregular appearances for a number years, Stephanie resumed appearing as regular WWE character in 2013 under the persona of a judgmental, unctuous, bullying owner alongside Chief Operating Officer and husband, Triple H. Together known as The Authority, the power couple make what are often shady decrees while claiming to only be concerned with “what’s best for business.” The Authority eventually expanded into a faction comprised of Seth Rollins, Kane, Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury, and of course, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
