Taya Valkyrie Not Competing At Bound For Glory Due To ‘Personal Reasons’

On the day before Bound For Glory, the card for Impact Wrestling’s biggest show of the year lost one of its matches.

Impact Wrestling announced that Taya Valkyrie, who had been scheduled to face Rosemary in a Red Wedding match (a First Blood Match) at Bound for Glory, wouldn’t be able to make the PPV or their subsequent television tapings. In their announcement, Impact noted that Valkyrie not being there is due to circumstances out of their control and they look forward to her being back in the promotion in 2018.

Valkyrie expanded on the announcement, writing on Twitter that her missing the shows is due to personal reasons. She hyped up that the Red Wedding Match will still happen when she returns in January.

According to PWInsider.com, the reason Valkyrie is missing the show is that she would have trouble getting back into the United States after the tapings. Valkyrie was born in Canada, but her permanent residency in the U.S. has yet to be completed. There was concern that her return back to the United States could be complicated, so the company made the decision to yank her from the shows instead of taking a chance. There is no heat on Taya and the company intends to use her on the January tapings.
