WWE NXT is scheduled to premiere on the USA Network on Wednesday, September 18, according to a report on Monday by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.
NXT is slated to air for two hours every Wednesday night from 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern time. The show will then go head-to-head with All Elite Wrestling’s weekly Wednesday night series, which premieres on October 2 in the same two-hour time slot.
Meltzer said an announcement regarding NXT would be made on tonight’s Raw, but it didn’t happen. Three minutes after Raw went off the air, Meltzer said on Twitter that the announcement is “coming soon enough.” He also said that Paul “Triple H” Levesque notified NXT talent of the network change last Thursday.
Levesque told the NXT talent this on Thursday. It’s coming soon enough. Stock market price already reflects the story. https://t.co/YmARQZQ3UJ— Dave Meltzer (@davemeltzerWON) August 20, 2019
WWE insider Brad Shepard reported an hour before Raw went on the air that the announcement was cut from the show following the last re-write. He also notes that WWE officials are unhappy with the announcement being leaked online, although it’s unclear if it was nixed because of that.
According to a source in #WWE, in the last re-write of #RAW, the big announcement of NXT to the USA Network was taken out of the show. I’m told they’re unhappy the announcement was leaked. It should be interesting to see if it’s added back.— Brad Shepard of ProSportsExtra.com (@TheBradShepard) August 19, 2019
In a follow-up tweet after Raw, Shepard said he confirmed that the announcement was taken out of the show.
