Zelina Vega will wrestle her first-ever match as a member of the WWE main roster tonight on SmackDown LIVE.
After coming to blows during last Tuesday’s battle between Rusev and Andrade “Cien” Almas, the war of words between Vega and Lana continued on Twitter over the weekend.
Vega took the first swipe on Saturday.
Allllll naturallll!!! Getting my workout in before #WWEWildwood definitely brought out some Latin fire 🔥😈

“The Ravishing Russian” responded one day later with the following.

SmackDown LIVE General Manager Paige announced on Monday that this newfound rivalry would be taken off the internet and into the squared circle.
Well. @Zelina_VegaWWE and @LanaWWE have certainly been … ahem… vocal about their feelings this weekend. SO let’s take this off the internet and bring it into the ring. I am making it official. Zelina vs. Lana TOMORROW NIGHT on #SDLive

Squaring off for the first time ever, Rusev and Almas had an evenly matched contest last Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE. As the fight continued, Vega and Lana got into a heated altercation at ringside. Vega slapped Lana, and “The Ravishing Russian” tackled Vega, prompting English to hit the scene to separate the two. However, Vega jumped on his back, causing English to fall into Lana and sending all three to the ground. With Rusev distracted by the ruckus at ringside, Andrade took advantage by dropping his opponent with the Hammerlock DDT for the win.
Moments after Lana and English got into an altercation with Vega that cost Rusev his match against Almas, “The Bulgarian Brute” is not sure either of his associates is good for him.
Vega was promoted to the main roster in April alongside Almas as part of the Superstar Shake-up. She wrestled twice on NXT television before joining the main roster. Working under her real name, Thea Trinidad, she lost a match against NXT Women’s Champion Asuka on NXT on October 26, 2016. While she wasn’t under contract to WWE at the time, she was offered a developmental contract a few months later.
On the April 18 episode of NXT, Candice LeRae beat Vega in a singles match. This turned out to be both Vega and Almas’s last appearances in NXT.
Between February and March, Vegas teamed with Almas against LeRae and Johnny Gargano in several matches at NXT house shows.
Before signing with WWE, Vega generally wrestled under her real name on the independent circuit. She also appeared in TNA under the name Rosita from January 2011 through April 2012, at which point she stopped being used.
