Major Name Debuts At NXT Takeover: Unstoppable

Samoa Joe

Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe made his NXT debut Wednesday night during NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable on the WWE Network.

During the main event, which featured Kevin Owens defending the NXT Championship against Sami Zayn, Owens would hit Zayn with a Powerbomb on the ring apron. He would then begin viciously attacking Zayn, causing NXT officials to come out and stop the bout.

This wouldnโ€™t stop Owens from attacking Zayn, however. NXT officials couldnโ€™t stop Owens from getting a chair, and attempting to take Zayn out of action for good. Before he could finish off his long-time friend/foe however, Owens would be stopped by the sound of new entrance music.

Samoa Joe would then appear, stopping Owens in his tracks. After a quick stare down between the two grapplers, Owens would storm off towards the backstage area, saying that NXT is his house. Joe would then appease to the crowd, gaining a rave reaction from the crowd.

Owens would emerge only to say that he โ€œdid what he came to do,โ€ and that he wouldnโ€™t be fighting Joe during NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable.

As previously reported, Joe had been rumored to debut during the NXT special. Triple H had confirmed that he had been visiting the WWE Performance Center, but would not confirm Joeโ€™s involvement with the brand.

Joe is being billed as the โ€œSubmission Specialist.”
