For years, WWE fans have been enjoying the ongoing evolution of women in professional wrestling and Mandy Rose has been a significant participant in many of the most important steps.

In 2015, Rose placed second on WWE Tough Enough, an American professional wrestling reality competition series wherein participants undergo professional wrestling training and compete for a contract with WWE. Soon after the finale, Rose signed a developmental contract and joined the cast of WWE’s reality television series on E!, Total Divas. After a stint with NXT, Rose joined Raw in November 2017 as a member of Absolution, alongside Paige and Sonya Deville. 

In 2018, Rose participated in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match — she was the first woman eliminated. She also competed in the first two Elimination Chamber Matches to feature women. The first Women’s Elimination Chamber Match took place in 2018 as six participants competed for the Raw Women’s Championship. In 2019, Rose and Deville faced five other tag teams in a Women’s Elimination Chamber Match to be crowned first-ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. In the latter match, Rose and Deville lasted until the first two teams remained, before being eliminated by Bayley and Sasha Banks.

Rose also competed at WWE’s first-ever women’s pay-per-view event and has displayed her wrestling ability on the grand stage of WrestleMania on three occasions.

Rose competed alongside Deville for nearly three years and they were known as Fire and Desire. The duo disbanded in March 2020 at WrestleMania 36 and had a very personal feud that culminated in a No Disqualification Loser Leaves WWE Match at SummerSlam 2020 which Rose won.

After failing to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Dana Brooke, Rose returned to NXT in July 2021 and formed an alliance with Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. Rose became hellbent on taking over the brand and raising the NXT Women’s Championship. At NXT Halloween Havoc on October 26, 2021, Rose beat Raquel Gonzalez in a Trick or Street Fight to capture the NXT Women’s Championship.

Rose reached the 365-day mark as NXT Women’s Champion, becoming the third woman to hold the title for a continuous reign of one full year. Rose lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez on December 15, 2022, ending her reign at 413 days.
