– As noted, Sting spoke with WWE’s website to talk about the injury he suffered at Night of Champions, noting that aside from a stiff neck, he’s a little banged up but feels good. Sting said he feels “pretty standard” after a match like that and said it’s a “wait and see” type of situation in regards to another match. Sting also had big praise for his opponent, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Below are a few more highlights:
How he would describe competing against Rollins:
The biggest pleasure. Iโm honored. After 30 years and working with some of the best and some of the greatest, [Rollins] is, Iโm telling you, heโs got to be the best Iโve ever worked with. I mean, this guy has it. And I think heโs just scratching the surface on what he will do. Iโve never seen somebody as talented. Heโs working two [matches] on Raw, two [matches] on the pay-per-view, heโs involved in every other segment and itโs physical. Heโs got guys coming from every angle. Thereโs a lot on his plate. Heโs carrying a lot, and heโs handling it. Heโs proven he can do it. Iโm just glad I had a chance to work with him. Heโs the kind of guy who could be in there with a broomstick and make something very interesting happen, a match that people would love somehow.
The conversation they had after the match:
Really, I canโt say enough. He poked his head in the ambulance and said, โMan, Iโm so sorry. I donโt know what happened.โ I said, โSeth, donโt worry about it. Itโs not your fault.โ And he, for 15 minutes, he said, โI just wanted to tell you what an honor it was, what a pleasure. I canโt believe I had a chance to get in the ring with you and work with you. I was you for Halloween when I was a kid.โ He was on and on about it, but man, this young guy, he doesnโt have any idea how much I appreciate being able to work with him.
