AJ Styles Dealing With Injury – Will He Miss WrestleMania?

WWE Champion AJ Styles has been dealing with an undisclosed injury as of late.

At last Friday’s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden, he was slated to team with his WrestleMania 34, opponent, Shinsuke Nakamura, against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. An injury angle was done at the beginning of the show to take Styles out of the match with Owens and Zayn attacking Styles’ leg (as seen in the video below).

Styles had to be assisted to the back, and the scheduled tag match was changed to a singles bout between Nakamura and Owens, which Nakamura won by disqualification after Zayn interfered.

Styles returned to save Nakamura from a post-match beatdown from Owens and Zayn, but he was still limping. He missed the remaining WWE live events on Saturday, Sunday and Money, where he was announced as injured.

Though details on his injury still aren’t known, Wrestling Observer Newsletter editor Dave Meltzer noted on Tuesday that Styles was examined at Raw in Dallas, Texas and he will be good to go for WrestleMania.

Also on Tuesday, Styles took part in a conference call for international media and Catch-Newz.com, a French language wrestling website, asked Styles about his injury and if he would still be competing at WrestleMania.

“If my leg got cut off I’d find a way to make it to Wrestlemania,” Styles said. “I will be wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania, don’t worry about it, it’ll be fine.”

Styles appeared on SmackDown LIVE on Tuesday night from Dallas but did not wrestle. He watched Nakamura beat Rusev at ringside while providing commentary at the announce table.
