Former Knockouts Champion Returns To Impact Wrestling

Madison Rayne has returned to Impact Wrestling.

Impact Wrestling continued their latest week of tapings on Tuesday in Ottawa’s Aberdeen Pavillion and the five-time Knockouts Champion wrestled on the show.

In a Triple Threat Match for a shot at the vacant Knockouts Championship, Rayne took on Laurel Van Ness and newcomer Traci Spinelli (aka KC Spinelli). Laurel ended up winning the match.

Rayne’s return to Impact Wrestling is a bit surprising since she took part in a WWE tryout last month at the Performance Center. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that of the 30+ attendees at the tryout, which included independent wrestlers, undefeated professional boxers, former NFL players and collegiate grapplers, Rayne was the most impressive.

It’s unclear whether this is a one-time appearance or a full-time return. If it’s not a full-time return, it’s still possible that she winds up in WWE since the company has used talent fresh off appearing on Impact Wrestling.

Rayne apparently left Impact Wrestling in July since her profile on ImpactWrestling.com was removed that month. She was rumored to have been released from her contract as a cost-cutting measure.
