Dixie Carter Says WWE Has Been After TNA’s Talent, EC3 on TNA Providing an Alternative to WWE

Dixie Carter

– The Associated Press spoke with TNA President Dixie Carter, POP TV’s Brad Schwartz, Kurt Angle, Ethan Carter III and Matt Hardy this past week to promote Impact Wrestling. The full article is at this link. Dixie commented on WWE signing former TNA talents such as Samoa Joe, Sting and Bully Ray, and others like James Storm coming back:

“We’ve always been criticized about taking WWE talent and I think it’s pretty interesting how the roles have been reversed. Our competitors, our competition have been after our talent. A lot of times they come back. The grass isn’t always greener and what we have here is very special.”

EC3 commented on competing with WWE:

“As far as competing head on with WWE, they’re top dog in the game. We need to provide an alternative and focus on ourselves. I don’t think signing big names in wrestling is what fans are interested in as much as seeing new characters develop into something out of nothing.”

Dixie also commented on where they’re looking to go with the product:

“We’re trying to get back to more real things, things that come from a place that doesn’t seem fake or scripted or robotic.”
