She also co-hosts The Hopeaholics Podcast, operates a rehabilitation center in Laguna Beach, California called NEM Recovery Center, and is an ambassador for REIGN Total Body Fuel.

She was born Natalie Eva Marie Nelson on September 19, 1984 (age 41) in Walnut Creek, California, United States. In 2021, she revealed on Twitter that her real full name is Natalie Eva Marie. Natalie Eva Marie is also her professional name for endeavors outside of WWE.

Whether you loved her or loved to boo her, you cannot deny that Eva Marie was one of WWE’s most intriguing Superstars.

Eva Marie began to draw attention in 2013 as part of the E! reality series Total Divas, where cameras followed the charismatic and beautiful newcomer on her path to WWE stardom. Once she finally appeared in front of the live audience, Eva Marie wasted no time making an impression when she slapped WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler across the face.

After nearly two years wrestling on WWE’s main roster, Eva Marie showed up on the NXT brand in June 2015. Wanting to be part of the buzz surrounding the women’s division, Eva Marie rededicated herself to becoming the best professional wrestler possible. Despite her hard work, however, many fans failed to recognize her improving grappling skills. However, the criticism spurred Eva Marie to work even harder. In the weeks that followed, her impressive win-loss record told the story of an athlete who was on top of her game. With victories over Carmella, Alexa Bliss and Bayley, Eva Marie effectively proved her naysayers wrong.

Despite this, Eva Marie remained one of the most polarizing Superstars in WWE, if not WWE history. When she joined the SmackDown brand in 2016, her entrance theme proclaimed her as “the most stylish, elegant, bewitching, eternally beguiling, continuously charismatic and fantastically fascinating woman to appear in this or any arena.” Unfortunately for WWE, this star parted ways with the organization to pursue fitness and entertainment endeavors.

After a four-year hiatus, Eva Marie returned to WWE in 2021 as a member of the Raw brand. Though she had gold on her mind, she also had the goal of helping and mentoring up-and-coming WWE Superstars. Describing her return as the “Eva-Lution,” Eva Marie wanted to show everyone they can believe in themselves and accomplish whatever they set their minds to.

Eva Marie is featured on the thumbnail for a special edition of WWE Top 10 that was posted on WWE’s YouTube channel on June 15, 2025, counting down the top 25 most humiliating moments in WWE (titled WWE Top 25 for this video).

On SmackDown Live on August 9, 2016, Eva Marie was set to wrestle Becky Lynch, but sustained an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while she was warming up in the ring. The straps of Eva Marie’s wrestling attire unexpectedly came loose moments before they were set to lock up, creating an instant crisis situation on live television. As Eva Marie struggled to keep her top from completely falling off, match official Dan Engler immediately asked ringside personnel for a towel, and he covered her up with it moments later. Engler then called the match off, ruling that Eva Marie could not compete due to a wardrobe malfunction.

Ring announcer Greg Hamilton announced to disappointed fans, “Ladies and gentleman, due to a wardrobe malfunction, Eva Marie cannot compete, and therefore this match will not take place.”

Eva Marie took on Doudrop as her protégé, hoping to help her believe in herself. She often avoided wrestling herself, instead demanding Doudrop fight her battles on her behalf. Truly, Eva Marie is an inspiration to the WWE Universe.
