She is known for her two main roster stints with WWE; from 2005 to 2010 and 2016 to 2021. During her first stint with WWE, she captured the WWE Women’s Championship five times and the Divas Championship once. She is also the second WWE Superstar to hold both the WWE Women’s Championship and the Divas Championship (not simultaneously), following Michelle McCool.

James also had three stints with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), also known as Impact Wrestling. Her first stint took place from 2010 to 2013. Her second stint took place in 2015. Her third stint took place from 2021 to 2023. She won the TNA Knockouts Championship three times during her first stint. She won the Knockouts Championship a fourth time in October 2021 and a fifth and final time in January 2023 (officially known as the Impact Knockouts World Championship).

James made history on January 29, 2022, when she entered the Women’s Royal Rumble Match as a member of Impact Wrestling. It was the first crossover between WWE and Impact Wrestling at an event. James came out to her Impact theme, Hardcore Country, and with the Impact Knockouts World Championship wrapped around her waist, before entering the Women’s Royal Rumble Match at No. 20. She lasted just under 12 minutes in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. She eliminated her former rival, Michelle McCool, before being eliminated by Lita, another former rival. She was born Mickie Laree James on August 31, 1979 (age 45) in Richmond, Virginia, United States. After marrying Nick Aldis on December 31, 2015, she changed her personal name to Mickie James-Aldis. It is the name she uses on X.
