“Yes, I know I look hot and sexy and s**t.

“But I was absolutely miserable.

“Through no fault of the photographer, the immensely talented Fiona Fraser. She was wonderful in making me feel as comfortable as she could.

“But I was miserable in this photo. I had a terrible relationship with food. I had a terrible relationship with myself. I hated myself. Going to therapy was the best decision I ever made.

“I look at recent photos now and I’m like I look more happy now. Because I am.

“I didn’t tell people I went to therapy because I didn’t want to look mentally soft or weak.

“My god, that is absolutely the wrong mindset.

“Asking for help is strong. Taking the time to take care of yourself is strong. There’s also more important things to life than other’s perceptions of you.

“Long story short. I’m just saying, please be kind. Be empathetic. Truly, a photo is worth a thousand words. Luckily I’m not going to write a thousand words (squinting face with tongue emoji).”

Her real name is Nicola Glencross, and she was born on April 21, 1989 (age 35) in Glasgow, Scotland. She refers to herself under that name on Instagram, X and for acting roles.

Glencross began wrestling in 2008 for various independent promotions in Europe under the ring name Nikki Storm. She signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2016 and changed her ring name to Nikki Cross. During her first years with the company, she performed on the NXT brand as part of SAnitY. Her persona was that of a psychopathic and unhinged woman who would suffer mood swings. SAnitY was drafted to SmackDown in April 2018 without Cross, who remained in NXT.

WWE promoted Cross to the main roster in December 2018. She joined Raw and formed a tag team with Alexa Bliss, winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice. From June 2021 to October 2022, her character became a faux-inspired superhero known as Nikki A. S. H. (standing for “Almost A Superhero”). On July 18, 2021, she won the women’s Money in the Bank contract and successfully cashed it in the next day to become Raw Women’s Champion. She also won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Rhea Ripley. In 2022, she reverted to the Nikki Cross name and persona.
