WWE RAW Report – 9/7/15

– Tonight’s Labor Day Edition of WWE RAW kicks off with WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins coming to the ring as Lilian Garcia makes the introduction. Michael Cole welcomes us and he’s joined by Byron Saxton and JBL.

Rollins declares that he’s special. Not regular special, like really mega special. Once in a lifetime special. Fans boo him some more. Rollins goes on and brags about holding both titles at once. Rollins talks about his statue and a “we want Sting” chant breaks out. Rollins tells Sting to be careful what he wishes for because he has the opportunity of a lifetime, to validate his entire career and cement his legacy. But on the flipside, Rollins says he has the chance to crush Sting’s legacy and that’s what he’s going to do. Rollins brings up the match against John Cena next and a “boring” chant starts. Rollins tells them he’s the champ so he can go all night long but the chants don’t stop right away.

Rollins goes on and says this has been his year and Night of Champions will be his night. He’s going to own Cena and Sting, just like he owns all the fans and the ring. Rollins says if it’s the last thing he does, he’s going to get his statue back. Rollins says the statue wasn’t just stolen from him, it was taken from all the fans. He says we deserve to see it every week. We hear the crows and Sting appears on the big screen.

Sting says the statue belongs right here…. with him. We see Sting is leaning on the statue now. Sting agrees, Rollins is the man… the man without a statue. Sting says the statue is here and he’s here, so Rollins should come and get it. Sting says he’s taking good care of the statue and starts dusting it off. Sting tells Rollins to come and get it before disappearing. Rollins yells that he’s not afraid and out comes Sheamus with his Money In the Bank briefcase and a mic.

Sheamus says Rollins looks agitated but the “you look stupid” chants interrupt him. He asks if Rollins is worried. Rollins says he’s not worried about Sting, Cena or Sheamus but he has to go rescue his statue. Sheamus says he sounds stupid. Rollins says Sheamus looks stupid and fans pop. The “you look stupid” chants start. Sheamus teases cashing in at Night of Champions and says Rollins might have a third match against him that night. Sheamus raises the briefcase in Rollins’ face as his music hits and he leaves.

– Still to come, Summer Rae has requested time to apologize to Rusev. Also, Paige vs. Sasha Banks. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and we hear dueling Cena chants out in the arena. Stephanie McMahon is backstage when Rollins walks in asking if she seen what happened. She tells Rollins to calm down. Rollins hopes Triple H has a good plan for tonight and asks if he’s around. Rollins around and there Triple H is. Sheamus will be facing Randy Orton tonight. Triple H says Rollins’ focus needs to be on his two matches at Night of Champions, so he will compete twice tonight. Triple H says Rollins needs to be ready. The first match is champion vs. champion against Ryback and the second match will be Rollins and The New Day vs. John Cena and The Prime Time Players. Stephanie was going to suggest Rollins goes after Sting but thinks Triple H has a much better plan. Triple H says it gives Rollins the chance to go out and show everyone he’s the man tonight. Rollins gets hyped up and walks away.

Paige vs. Sasha Banks

We go to the ring and out comes Paige with Charlotte and Becky Lynch. Sasha Banks is out next with Tamina Snuka and Naomi. The bell rings and Sasha goes to the ropes as Paige charges her. Paige gets her hands on her and tosses Sasha across the ring. Paige with another toss by the hair.

Paige keeps control and drops Sasha on her face. Paige with back elbows in the corner. Sasha counters and drops Paige in the corner for a 2 count as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and Sasha is in control. Paige breaks free and hits a Thesz Press and strikes. Sasha comes right back with a forearm. Sasha with a boot and knees in the corner for a 2 count. Sasha chokes Paige on the ropes. Tamina nails a cheap shot while the referee isn’t looking. 2 count by Sasha. Paige blocks a suplex and rolls Sasha up for 2. Sasha slams her and covers for a 2 count. Paige gets up and they trade shots in the middle of the ring. Sasha takes Paige up top but Paige fights her off. Sasha dumps Paige on her head for a 2 count. Paige fights back and hits a big knee in the corner. Paige with a superkick and another knee for a 2 count.

Sasha blocks the Ram-Paige and goes to the floor. Paige leaps out and nails Tamina. They come back in and Sasha ends up rolling Paige up for the win after Naomi and Tamina run in for a distraction.

Winner: Sasha Banks

– After the match, Team BAD taunts Team PCB from the stage.

– Still to come, Reigns and Ambrose will be in action. Back to commercial.

The Ascension vs. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns

Back from the break and The Ascension is out. Out next comes Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, both through the crowd.

Konnor starts out with Ambrose and they go at it. Ambrose ducks clotheslines and knocks Konnor down. Konnor tries to fight back but Ambrose knees him and tags Reigns in for some double teaming. Konnor takes Reigns to the corner and tags in Viktor. They unload on Reigns in the corner. Konnor distracts Reigns, allowing Viktor to push him out of the ring. Reigns gets right up and drops them both. Ambrose runs the ropes and leaps out onto Konnor. Reigns nails the Drive By on Viktor. Reigns with a big overhead slam on Viktor and big clotheslines in the corner as fans count along to 10.

Reigns with a Superman punch on Viktor. Ambrose tags in and they hit a Doomsday Device on Viktor. Konnor runs in and Reigns spears him out of the ring. Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds on Viktor for the win.

Winners: Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose

– Braun Strowman appears on the big screen laughing and removes his black sheep mask. He says it’s OK to be afraid, he doesn’t blame them. He is destruction. Bray Wyatt appears to warns them and anyone who might join them… the apocalypse waits at Night of Champions. Luke Harper tells them to run and we cut to commercial.

– Renee Young is backstage with Ryback. Ryback talks about being a fighting champion and says Seth Rollins is a weasel who likes to whine and complain. Ryback says Rollins is a thoroughbred in the prime of his career but tonight, The Big Guy has plans of his own… a Meathook and Shellshock for the win. Fans chant “feed me more” but Kevin Owens walks up. Owens wishes Ryback good luck. Ryback thanks him but says he’s full of crap. Owens warns Ryback and walks off.

– We get a video on Dolph Ziggler, Lana and Summer Rae. Still to come, Summer will apologize to Rusev.

Ryback vs. Seth Rollins

We go to the ring and out comes WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback for this non-title match. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins is out. We see Ryback letting a fan hold his title during the match. The bell rings and Rollins goes to the floor to stall. Rollins comes back in and they lock up. Ryback sends him into the corner. Rollins goes back to the floor and gets booed. Rollins comes back in and applies a headlock. Ryback knocks him down with a shoulder. Rollins goes to the floor once again. Rollins comes back in and Ryback works on the arm.

Ryback with a quick pin attempt before taking Rollins back to the corner. Ryback takes Rollins down by his arm again now. Rollins comes back and beats Ryback down. Rollins with a big chop. Ryback with a Thesz Press. Ryback slams Rollins’ head into the mat. Rollins slides out of a suplex but Ryback chops him down. Ryback works on the arm some more and whips Rollins across the ring. Ryback keeps control for another pin attempt. Rollins counters with a jawbreaker and goes to work on Ryback. Rollins slaps Ryback around and gets pressed high in the air for it. Ryback drops Rollins and he rolls to the floor. Rollins ends up launching himself from the ring to the floor but Ryback catches him. Rollins sends him face first into the ring post and then the steel steps. We go to commercial.’

Back from the break and Ryback runs into the ring post. Rollins with a neckbreaker and a 2 count. Rollins with a headlock now. Rollins up springboarding in with the knee. He keeps control and taunts Ryback in the corner. Ryback blocks a Pedigree and goes for a powerbomb but Rollins slides out. Rollins with a kick to the ribs. Ryback catches a kick and goes for the powerbomb again, nailing it for a 2 count. Ryback goes to the top but Rollins meets him. Ryback headbutts Rollins to the mat and misses the big splash. Rollins with a 2 count. Rollins with a baseball slide that knocks Ryback down on the floor. The referee starts counting. Ryback comes up but Rollins knocks him off the apron. The count starts again.

Rollins dives out and sends Ryback into the barrier. The referee starts counting again. Rollins nails another dive, sending Ryback into the barrier. Fans count with the referee but Ryback gets up, runs in and nails a spinebuster. Ryback calls for the Meathook and nails it to a big pop. Rollins slides out of Shellshock and hits an enziguri. We hear the crows and Sting appears on the big screen. He asks Rollins why he’s in the ring, per-occupied. Sting says he and the statue are waiting on Rollins. Ryback rolls Rollins up off the distraction for the win.

Winner: Ryback

– After the match, Rollins throws a fit as Ryback makes his exit and we get replays. Sting appears on the big screen again and puts a Sting mask on the statue.

– Still to come, our six-man main event. Still to come, Sheamus vs. Randy Orton – the rubber match. Back to commercial.

– Seth Rollins is backstage looking for Sting. The New Day appears instead and they’re in a good mood. They try to get Rollins hype for the main event but he’s not in the mood. Edge and Christian appear. Edge asks Rollins if he remembers what he did to him last time they were in front of each other. Edge says Rollins didn’t get the job done then and tells him to try now, bucking up to Rollins. Rollins says he’s got a lot on his plate tonight and storms off. Xavier Woods breaks out the trombone for Edge and Christian but Christian has his kazoo. He does “New Day sucks” and Big E breaks it. The Dudley Boyz show up. Bubba Ray says they just spoke with The Authority and next week on RAW, The New Day will defend their titles against The Prime Time Players. The winner of that match will defend against he and Devon at Night of Champions.

– Summer Rae makes her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

– Back from the break and we get a video package. Summer Rae talks about how the past week has been the worst of her life. She says the man at the center of all of this is a victim and does not deserve what he’s having to go through – Rusev. She says she owes him an apology and out he comes. She tells him he’s been her lighthouse to guide her through troubled waters and she owes him so much. He helped her get in shape to his liking and gave her the courage to pose for this month’s Iron Man magazine, which we see on the big screen. She says this is all thanks to Rusev, which is why she feels so terrible. She says Dolph Ziggler has been trying to seduce her for weeks and she should have known better last week. She says her innocence got the best of her. She talks about seeing Ziggler in the shower and says it was all too much, she was so weak. She says she let Ziggler kiss her and she’s so sorry for it. She starts crying and apologizing. She says she may never forgive herself for betraying Rusev. Fans boo.

Rusev says she did betray him but he forgives her. He says this isn’t her fault, it’s Ziggler’s fault for feeding her American lies. Rusev says he is not the victim, Summer is. Rusev says Lana not being here due to a broken wrist is a lie, she’s not here because she has a broken heart. Rusev goes on and out comes Dolph Ziggler with a mic. Rusev wonders why he’s here in his face when Lana’s at home in bed. More talk until Ziggler nails a superkick. Ziggler taunts Summer and Rusev from the ring as they make their exit.

– We see Randy Orton talking to Reigns and Ambrose backstage. He walks away and we go to commercial.

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

Back from the break and out comes Randy Orton to a pop. Sheamus is out next.

They lock up and trade holds to start. Sheamus works on the arm but Orton turns it around with a headlock. Sheamus rolls to the floor for a breather. Sheamus comes back in and applies a headlock. They trade holds on the mat again and lock up. Sheamus ends up going to the floor once again to regroup. This happens again but this time Sheamus takes the mic and yells at the fans for saying he looks stupid. Orton follows and slams him on the barricade before bringing it back in. Orton with uppercuts in the corner.

Orton mounts him with right hands in the corner. Sheamus turns that into an inverted atomic drop but Orton comes right back with a dropkick. Sheamus goes back to the floor. Orton comes out but Sheamus nails the Irish Curse backbreaker. Sheamus goes back in the ring as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and Sheamus has Orton down in a headlock. Orton fights out but Sheamus hits the rolling senton. Sheamus asks who looks stupid now and fans boo him. Sheamus wastes some time but hits uppercuts. Orton fights out of the corner with uppercuts of his own. Orton with a pair of clotheslines and a powerslam. Orton runs into a boot. Orton with the t-bone suplex for a 2 count.

Sheamus goes to the apron. Orton goes for the second rope draping DDT but Sheamus fights it off. Sheamus with the forearms to the chest on the apron. Orton stops him at three. Sheamus sends Orton to the mat and climbs to the top. Sheamus nails the battering ram for a 2 count. Sheamus yells at the referee before hitting the high knee on Orton. Orton with a powerslam out of nowhere for a 2 count. Orton looks to make a comeback but Sheamus slams him and goes for the Cloverleaf. Orton makes it to the bottom rope and breaks the hold. Orton dumps Sheamus to the apron and slams him into the turnbuckles a few times. Orton climbs up and nails the superplex for a 2 count. Orton with the second rope draping DDT to a pop. Sheamus blocks the RKO and hits White Noise for a 2 count. Fans chant “you look stupid” as Sheamus readies for a Brogue Kick. It’s blocked but so is the RKO. Sheamus rolls him up but Orton kicks out at 2 and nails the RKO for the win.

Winner: Randy Orton

– After the match, we get replays as Orton hits the corner to pose before making his exit. The Wyatt Family graphic appears and when the lights come up, they have Orton surrounded at ringside. Luke Harper nails him and hits a superkick. Bray Wyatt unloads on Orton as Braun Strowman waits in the ring. They roll Orton in and Braun manhandles him a few times before laying him out. The Wyatts pose over Orton as we go to commercial.

The Dudley Boyz vs. Los Matadores

Back from the break and out comes Bubba Ray and Devon Dudley to a big pop. Fernando and Diego are out next with El Torito.

Fernando starts off with Bubba and they lock up. Bubba slams him first but gets countered. Fernando with a dropkick from the back. Diego tags in and keeps control of Bubba until accidentally knocking Fernando off the apron. Torito argues with Diego. Diego drops Torito on the apron and turns around to a Dudley Death Drop for the win.

Winners: The Dudley Boyz

– After the match, Torito gets kicked out of the ring by Fernando. Fernando goes to the floor to keep bullying him around until The Dudley Boyz come back. Devon nails him and rolls him in the ring where Bubba has a table. They powerbomb Fernando through the table to a big pop.

– Back from the break and Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler is announced for Night of Champions.

Cesaro vs. The Miz

We go to the ring and The Miz is out as is Cesaro. Miz stalls to start the match and shows off some but Cesaro takes him to the mat and manhandles him. Miz fights back but Cesaro catches him with a backbreaker for a 2 count.

Cesaro with the running uppercuts in the corner. Miz avoids the third by rolling to the floor for a breather as fans boo. Cesaro follows and hits a big uppercut against the barrier, with JBL’s cowboy hat on. Fans chant for Cesaro as he brings it back in the ring. Miz unloads with kicks and now shoulder thrusts in the corner. Miz with a big shot to the ribs. Miz with more offense and a boot to the face for a 2 count.

Cesaro ends up getting knocked from the apron to the floor and he’s selling the rib injury. Miz follows and whips him into the barrier ribs first, twice. Big Show comes out and chases Miz around the ring. Miz finally takes off through the crowd as the referee calls for the bell.

Winner by Count Out: Cesaro

– After the bell, Miz looks back and laughs at Show from the crowd. Show heads back towards the ramp and stops to nail a knockout punch on Cesaro as fans boo.

– Back from the break and out comes WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Alicia Fox. Brie and Alicia do their own intro for Nikki. Nikki thanks them and everyone else. She asks if we can feel the excitement in the air and fans boo her some more. She says The Bella Army across the world is counting down the hours until she becomes the longest reigning Divas Champion. She shows us the BellaTron on the big screen again. Nikki says she’s going to throw the most insane party WWE has ever seen next week. She’s interrupted by Team PCB. Out comes Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Paige.

Charlotte reveals that The Authority has granted her petition and she will get her title shot next week on RAW. A brawl breaks out and the segment ends with Nikki tapping out to the Figure Eight.

John Cena and The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day and Seth Rollins

We go to the ring and out comes John Cena. Titus O’Neil and Darren Young are out next followed by WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day. WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins is out next looking rough.

Rollins and Cena start things off but Rollins immediately tags Big E before they lock up. They lock up and Big E applies a headlock. Big E drops Cena with a shoulder. Woods taunts Cena as they lock up again. Big E with another headlock. Cena looks to make a comeback but Big E slams him out of mid-air for a 2 count. Rollins tags in and stomps away on Cena. Big E tags back in and stomps also. Kofi tags in with more stomping. More quick tags and stomps. The New Day dominates Cena as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and Kofi nails a crossbody on Cena for a 2 count. Kofi keeps Cena grounded as Woods yells at ringside. Kofi hits the SOS for another 2 count. Rollins tags in and comes off the top with a knee to the face for a 2 count as Young breaks the pin. Rollins stomps on Cena in the corner now. Big E comes back in and keeps Cena down. Big E catches Cena in a big sideslam for a 2 count.

Cena moves when Big E goes for the splash and he finally gets an opening. Titus tags in and unloads on Big E. Titus with a big boot after clearing the apron. Rollins comes in but Titus tosses him to the apron. Young backdrops Rollins on the apron. Titus with a splash on Big E in the corner. Young comes and hits a Gutcheck from the apron on Woods. Kofi gets sent off the apron to the table. Titus turns around to a belly-to-belly from Big E. Rollins and Cena tag in. Cena goes for an Attitude Adjustment but Rollins lands on his feet. Rollins goes for the Pedigree but it’s turned into a STF. Kofi tags in and springboards onto Cena but Cena rolls through and hits the AA on Kofi for the win.

Winners: John Cena and The Prime Time Players

– After the match, Cena does the dance with The Prime Time Players before leaving. Rollins comes back in the ring but we hear the crows. Sting appears on the big screen with the statue. He says Rollins had a rough night and never came to get his statue. Sting calls for the lights and we see he’s outside on a loading dick with a trash truck. He tells the driver to start the engine and he tips the statue over into the truck. The statue is crushed as Sting looks on. Sting catches a ride on the back of the truck as it rides away. Rollins throws a fit in the ring about the statue being his property. Fans sing “goodbye” to Rollins as he grabs his titles and jumps on top of the announce table. Rollins raises his title but gets booed. Rollins goes back in the ring to raise his titles as we see Steve Austin, Edge and Christian preparing backstage. RAW goes off the air.
