Backstage News On Two More Title Matches Being Added To WrestleMania 34

According to Dave Meltzer in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there will be a second Triple Threat Match for a singles title at WrestleMania 34 as Randy Orton is slated to defend the United States Championship against Bobby Roode and Jinder Mahal.

WWE previously announced a Triple Threat Match with The Miz defending the Intercontinental Championship against Finn Balor and Seth Rollins.

Roode announced on SmackDown LIVE that he would be cashing in his rematch from Orton at WrestleMania but there was speculation on Mahal being added to the match after he picked up a singles win over Roode. Mahal should be added to the match on SmackDown next week.

As for the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, WWE plans on having Cedric Alexander face Mustafa Ali, with the winner capturing the vacant WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Alexander beat Roderick Strong on this week’s WWE 205 Live show to earn a spot in the match. Next week’s 205 Live show will feature Ali vs. Drew Gulak to determine Cedric’s opponent. Meltzer adds that Alexander vs. Ali has been WWE’s plan since the idea of the tournament finals taking place at WrestleMania was first put together.
