Huge Shift In Odds For Tonight’s Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss Match At WWE Payback

Tonight at WWE Payback at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, Alexa Bliss will look to unseat hometown star Bayley when they square off for the Raw Women’s Championship.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, there was a huge shift in the odds this morning on the match.

Between 3 a.m. and 7:35 a.m. Eastern time today, Bayley went from a 36-to-1 favorite to retain the Raw Women’s Championship Payback, to Bliss now being a 45-to-1 favorite to win the match.

This does not necessarily mean Bliss will win the Raw Women’s Championship, but in this case, it’s a very likely scenario.

With such giant odds and such a quick and giant swing, that is almost assuredly smart money coming in after a change in plans.

The first smart money backing Bayley came in between 11:00 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Up until that point, there weren’t long odds, meaning that a final decision on the outcome wasn’t known among people in WWE.

According to Meltzer, there is a Vince McMahon doctrine where WWE talent will usually be beaten or humiliate performers in their hometown. His mentality behind it is that it’s great for heel heat, which is difficult to get.

There has been no significant movement in any of the odds reported on earlier, past them becoming even longer in all other matches.
