Roman Reigns Segment Cut From SummerSlam, Bayley Praises Ember Moon, Jonathan Coachman’s Birthday

Roman Reigns

— SummerSlam came and went without an appearance by Roman Reigns, who captured the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar at last year’s show. His mystery attack storyline did, however, continue on the SummerSlam Kickoff.

On last week’s episode of SmackDown LIVE, Murphy implicated Rowan in the recent attacks on Reigns, and the 6-foot-8 monster viciously proved that Murphy made a huge mistake. Rowan screamed, “You keep my name out of your mouth,” as he brutally attacked Murphy during the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion’s match against Apollo Crews.

According to insider Brad Shepard, WWE canceled a “big” segment involving Reigns, Rowan and Daniel Bryan that had been planned for the pay-per-view.

Shepard notes that WWE was making changing to SummerSlam while the show was taking place.

— Ember Moon turned in one of the greatest performances of her WWE career against Bayley at SummerSlam, but “The Hugger” still walked out with the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Feeling the effects of their grueling title fight, Bayley expresses her respect for “The War Goddess” in this backstage interview with Kayla Braxton.

— Today is Jonathan Coachman’s birthday as the WWE personality turns 47 years old.
