Jeff Jarrett is the latest name hotly rumored for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018.

Earlier this week, a rumor attributed to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com surfaced where it was claimed the former Intercontinental Champion was in line for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

“There are guys inside of WWE that have come to me and said that they have heard Jeff Jarrett is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame,” Johnson said.

“While I have no idea that this is the case or not but there certainly seems to be some smoke floating around. Whether there is fire to that smoke, I don’t know.”

After the Jarrett news broke, a reporter from Sportskeeda.com spoke with Johnson and Johnson said the quote was taken out of context and he was misquoted.

Dave Meltzer addressed the report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter published today and said there was a list of names a few weeks ago under consideration for induction into the WWE Hall of Famer and Jarrett was on the list.

Currently featuring Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz, and Ivory, the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Friday, April 6 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
