WWE Teasing Confrontation At Raw Between Injured Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax

Alexa Bliss

On Tuesday, Cathy Kelley announced that Alexa Bliss suffered an arm injury at the hands of Ronda Rousey during their Raw Women’s Championship Match at the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. With Bliss sidelined, Ember Moon joined forces with Braun Strowman on WWE Mixed Match Challenge.

After her match against “The Baddest Woman on the Planet,” Bliss began to complain of soreness on Monday before waking up with numbness in her left arm on Tuesday morning. After seeking medical attention, Alexa received word that she is not cleared for WWE Mixed Match Challenge or this weekend’s live events. Accordingly, Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin decided to replace Bliss with Ember Moon as Strowman’s tag team partner for their match against Kevin Owens and Natalya.

Bliss is legitimately suffering from numbness in her left arm, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. She has been dealing with the injury since before Hell in a Cell, so WWE decided to weave her injury into storylines to explain why she’s out of action.

Bliss is still able to take on a limited role at WWE live events since she has been cleared for “minimal exertion.” So she still should have a presence on Raw while she gets healed. On last week’s show, she acted as a manager at ringside in support of Alicia Fox and Mickie James in their match against Moon and the returning Nia Jax.

It very much appears that Bliss will appear on Raw tomorrow night as WWE.com is teasing a confrontation between her and Jax.

Bliss, interrupted

Alexa Bliss might be out of Ronda Rousey’s orbit for now, but The Goddess was quickly forced to deal with another longtime rival when Nia Jax resurfaced to help Ember Moon obliterate Bliss’ cohorts, Mickie James and Alicia Fox. It’s been a while since Nia and Alexa mixed it up, though it’s safe to say The Irresistible Force hasn’t forgotten the Money in the Bank cash-in that snapped her Raw Women’s Title reign. Alexa, then, has a lot to answer for and not a lot of time to figure out how.

Bliss is currently scheduled to face WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus at WWE Evolution on October 28. There’s no word yet on whether she’ll recover in time for the match.

After beating Owens and Natalya on Mixed Match Challenge, Strowman opened up on teaming with Moon instead of Bliss. “The Monster Among Men” indicated that Bliss will not return this season.

Cathy Kelley: “We are less than 24 hours removed from Alexa Bliss being taken out of the WWE Mixed Match Challenge and, Ember, you becoming her replacement…”

Braun Strowman: “… I’m a little heartbroken that Alexa’s not gonna be able to make it to this Mixed Match Challenge season but I can’t think of anybody else to step up and take her place than the She-Ra right here…”

Ember Moon: “… this is only the beginning, and every other team better beware of the Monster Eclipse.”

According to PWInsider, there has been talk of Bliss re-joining Strowman on Mixed Match Challenge if she’s able to get cleared to return to the ring in time for his next match.
