The Asbury Park Press in New Jersey is reporting that the death of Jon Rechner, popularly known to wrestling fans as Balls Mahoney, has been ruled natural.
Rechner suddenly died on April 12, 2016 at his home in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey due to hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, said Charles Webster, spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
“In other words, he had a heart attack,” Webster said.
The former WWE and ECW star was 44-years-old when he died.
According to Rechner’s obituary, he is survived by his mother, Suzanne Koenig Rechner, his devoted companion of 13 years Gayle Schechter, and their son, Christopher Rechner.
