Dean Ambrose Originally Scripted To Cut A Longer Promo On Raw

Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose confronted Seth Rollins on Raw last night to simply say, “Slay the beast.” Ambrose, however, was apparently supposed to say more than that.

Ambrose confronted Rollins after the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble Match winner exchanged words with Paul Heyman over challenging Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. Once the segment wrapped up, Ambrose headed to the ring and told Rollins, “I’ve only got one thing got to say to you, Slay the beast.”

Ambrose’s promo was originally set to be longer. Dave Meltzer noted on the post-Raw edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Ambrose was supposed to talk about The Shield and Roman Reigns, which would then lead to him finishing it up by stating, “Slay the beast.”

It’s unclear whether WWE creative opted to keep Ambrose’s promo brief, or Ambrose did himself.
