Vince McMahon Cancels Major WrestleMania 34 Segment Involving The Rock

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

A major WrestleMania 34 segment featuring The Rock has been canceled by Vince McMahon.

There were plans for Elias to deliver a big musical performance at WrestleMania 34, only to be interrupted by four former WWE Superstars and The Rock with their own songs. The four ex-WWE Superstars and their songs were supposed to be:

– Michael “P.S.” Hayes (Badstreet USA)

– Jeff Jarrett (With My Baby Tonight)

– Jillian Hall (Sliced Bread)

– The Honky Tonk Man (his entrance theme song)

The fifth star to interrupt Elias would’ve been The Rock with a song of his own.

However, McMahon clearly told the writers that this plan would be nixed if they can’t secure The Rock for WrestleMania 34, as Vince thinks there wouldn’t be enough star power without The Rock in a segment that would run 20 minutes.

Vince then thought about replacing The Rock with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels (who would’ve sung his “Sexy Boy” theme song), but then canceled the entire segment after thinking about it for a week.

It’s still possible that The Rock appears at WrestleMania 34, but it would be a very last minute decision.

The Rock made his last WrestleMania appearance back in 2016, where he defeated Erick Rowan in six seconds and joined forces with John Cena to fight off The Wyatt Family.
