Update On Braun Strowman’s Status For WWE TLC

Though Braun Strowman has been sidelined with an elbow injury, Baron Corbin has made it clear that their match at WWE TLC will go on as planned. According to Corbin, he will become the Permanent General Manager of Monday Night Raw if and when “The Monster Among Men” is not medically cleared to compete.

Strowman will work the match, according to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com. He revealed this last Friday on Wrestling Observer Live in response to a person saying via email that Strowman is off the show (h/t WrestlingNews.co).

“Where did that information come from? As far as I know and as of [Thursday], Braun is on the show. Braun’s working TLC. I don’t know what he’s gonna be doing. I don’t think he’s going to do a long TLC match. But Braun is going to be on the show and he may win, he may not win,” Alvarez said.

“The story is that Kurt Angle is going to be on Raw on Monday and Kurt Angle, of course, was sent home. If Baron Corbin loses then Kurt Angle would be a fine replacement. I know that everybody, including myself, thinks there’s a decent chance that Baron Corbin is actually going to win that match and they’ll have to do a bunch of storylines leading to Braun actually getting a shot against Brock. They have six weeks [until Royal Rumble], they have plenty of time.”

In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer speculates that the match is set up for an over-confident Corbin to lose and that Braun could conceivably show up and win in a quick, squash type of match.
