Does Baron Corbin Have Heat Backstage?

In the past week, Baron Corbin unsuccessfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and then quickly lost a match to John Cena at SummerSlam. This has many fans thinking the “Lone Wolf” has heat backstage.

Dave Meltzer noted on the post-Raw edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Corbin is definitely being punished by WWE, and the way he was booked in his match with Cena was indicative of his heat. WWE booked him as an afterthought and did not protect him at all as he lost to Cena after just one Attitude Adjustment.

As far as why Corbin apparently has heat backstage, Meltzer’s co-host, Bryan Alvarez, said last week it is due to the WWE Superstar’s behavior on Twitter.

Recently, Corbin has gone after Meltzer.

What matches and promos has Dave meltzer done. Ohh none! He is a old man who could never do what anyone on the roster can or could.

Corbin also tweeted Meltzer, “You where blocked while I was in NXT. Now you’re free to say what ever to me.”

During his spat with Meltzer, Corbin also took a shot at a fan over his Twitter profile photo. The fan later revealed he was a military person and Meltzer noted that the whole incident didn’t help Corbin either.

There have also been reports of Corbin blocking people within WWE.

Meltzer also reported that WWE is very high on NXT’s Bobby Roode, who is expected to join the main roster soon. Meltzer speculated that Roode may be promoted to SmackDown LIVE and assume Corbin’s position on the brand.
