Bayley On Sasha Banks, Defending Her Title In Her Hometown, The Legend She Credits For Helping Her Find Her Character

Bayley was recently a guest on the Baby Huey and Bimbo Jimbo Show and talked about her WrestleMania experience, Dusty Rhodes, and more. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

On her WrestleMania experience:

โ€œI still canโ€™t really wrap my mind around itโ€ฆmind blowing and being on the same show as the Hardy Boyz, thatโ€™s when it really hit me, and the little kid in me was really freaking out, and wanted to cry.โ€

On defending her title in her hometown at Payback:

โ€œIโ€™m really excited because I have watched WWE live events and Raw and Smackdown inside the arena where we are wrestling on Sunday. I kind of just grew up there, and itโ€™s going to be so cool to be able to walk down the ramp and now have my family and friends watch me as the champion.โ€

On the history she and Sasha Banks made in NXT:

โ€œWe were both really emotional during all of it. That Brooklyn match won match of the year actually for NXT, and it was voted on by the fans so that was a huge accomplishment, and we still get questions about that matchโ€ฆThe other day we even said itโ€™s so crazy that we had that match, and that it had such an impact that years from now we can look back and just be proud of that one match if not anything else.โ€

On the state of the Womenโ€™s Revolution:

โ€œWe are kind of still building each other on both Raw and Smackdown, but itโ€™s definitely taken huge leaps and bounds where Sasha and Charlotte were able to main event PPVs like Hell In A Cell and first ever matches and do all this stuffโ€ฆItโ€™s taken huge steps, but obviously, we all want the number one goal to be main eventing Wrestlemania. We are still working towards that, thereโ€™s always more work to be done, but I am so happy and proud to see how far itโ€™s come.

On Dusty Rhodesโ€™ impact on her career:

โ€œWhen I first got to FCWโ€ฆI was going nowhere. I had no personality, no character. He put me in extra promo classes with like 5 other people, and this was aside from the promo class that we already had to do because he knew I needed workโ€ฆI would cry in front of the camera, but he would calm me down, and just say talk from your heart, talk from your heart, be who you are, and I didnโ€™t think that was good enough, but he told me it was. So I kept going with who I was, and it kind of formed into what it is nowโ€ฆHe just really found that something special inside you that you didnโ€™t even knew that you had.โ€
