Making a name for herself on the independent wrestling scene with her death-defying style and unapologetic, in-your-face attitude, Blackheart racked up a number of titles and became a fan favorite. She raised her stock in a No Disqualification Match against Brandi Lauren at EVOLVE 131 (aka EVOLVE’s 10th Anniversary Special) on July 13, 2019, inspiring awe with a daring topé suicida on to chairs.

Though she came up short in the match, Blackheart captivated fans and accepted a WWE developmental contract offer from NXT General Manager William Regal on October 11, 2019 at EVOLVE 137.

Blackheart arrived to NXT with a clear mission statement to take care of business. Shotzi rode to the ring on a tank, setting the tone for her matches: She won’t get pushed around and her opponents will end up crushed.

On SmackDown on July 9, 2021, Blackheart, with her name shorted to Shotzi, debuted alongside Tegan Nox. The team disbanded during the 2021 WWE Draft as Nox got drafted to Raw with Shotzi remaining on SmackDown. After losing a Championship Contender Match to Charlotte Flair on SmackDown on October 29, 2021, Shotzi turned heel by attacking Sasha Banks both inside and outside the ring.
