Although women competed for decades in WWE rings before her, Sable is considered by many as a pioneer. Behind her amazing
athleticism and spine-jarring Sable Bomb, the blonde bombshell became the sixteenth Women's Champion in WWE history. Despite
her impressive in-ring accolades, however, Sable will be long remembered for being the first of many beautiful WWE Divas to
pose nude in Playboy.
Sable's earliest WWE days were spent by the side of Hunter Hearst Helmsley, but when he began to mistreat the fair-haired
Diva, her husband, Marc Mero, ran to her aid. For the better part of the next two years, the loving couple shared a strong
bond both on and off the air.
By 1998, the spotlight began to shine brightest on Sable, leaving Marc's star to fade. Jealous of his wife's popularity,
Mero tried everything in his power to dim her bright career and hide her voluptuous curves. His attempts eventually
backfired when Sable escaped from his grasp, delivering a Sable Bomb in the process.
Sable then went on to achieve never-before-seen success. Her first step toward greatness was capturing the Women's
Championship from Mero's new lady, Jacqueline. In the months that followed, the new champ rode her popularity all the way to Hollywood, landing guest roles on a few television programs such as Pacific Blue, Relic Hunter and First Wave.
Sable's inevitable break into mainstream came when she landed the cover of Playboy in April 1999. The overwhelming
success of her nude spread led to two more covers, but more importantly, helped pave the way for future Divas. Sable made a
shocking return to WWE in 2003, when she was featured in another Playboy spread - this time with Torrie Wilson.
Whether she is remembered as the Diva of WWE Divas or a Playboy cover girl, one thing is certain: Sable was a
pioneer and broke new ground for the Sexiest Women on Television. That may be her greatest legacy.
Fan approaches Brock Lesnar and Sable at Orlando International Airport
Last week on Raw in Miami, Florida, Brock Lesnar returned to challenge John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight
Championship at SummerSlam. The former UFC standout brought former WWE Diva Sable, his wife, on his trip to
the Sunshine State, during which they had some odd encounters with wrestling fans.
A video that has received a lot of attention is that of a fan approaching Brock Lesnar and his wife, former WWE Diva Sable, last week at Orlando International Airport for a photo and being denied. The person who shot the footage, the girl's husband, detailed the awkward encounter in the video's description.
"Saori went up to Brock and ask if he was Brock Lesnar... Brock first didn't hear her until Sable said to Brock" I think
she is talking to you", then Brock turn around and looked at Saori and asked "How are you?", Saori said fine and she ask
him"Are you Brock Lesnar?" He said "Yes" and then she ask "Can i take a picture with you?" And he said "No, not today",
Saori then said thank you and walked away ... .. I told Saori it was ok ... No worries .. -It was still cool to see him and
see my wife talk to Brock."
The two also had an encounter with a fan at a Florida beach, which was detailed on a message board, "On the beach here in Florida and I was taking a picture of the beach and all of a sudden I hear some guy yell "HEY NO
FUCKING PICTURES" and I look and see Brock Lesnar. I didn't even know he was there and I wasn't even taking a picture of
him! Pretty jerkish thing to say. Oh well still pretty cool to see him. After he walked by I took a picture, I have it right
here but I'm not sure how to upload it. If anyone can tell me how to I will upload it immediately."
And here is the picture.
Although it would appear that Lesnar dislikes the fans, it may not be true; a Google Images search reveals that he has posed
for photos with multiple fans.
