During Raw, NXT prospect Braun Stowman made his main roster debut, aligning himself with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family to battle against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
Stowman, who will now be referred to as Braun Strowman, could have debuted one night earlier at SummerSlam” had WWE’s original plans come to fruition, according to a report by F4WOnline.com.
At one point, Strowman was set to team with Wyatt and Harper in a six-man tag team match at the pay-per-view against the former Shield members, although it’s unclear as to who would have teamed with Reigns and Ambrose had that happened.
There were rumors prior to SummerSlam of Sting possibly entering the fray to complete the equation, although that blueprint was eventually scrapped. “The Vigilante” also showed up on Rawattacking Unified WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins.
Had Erick Rowan been healthy, odds are he would have joined his fellow Wyatt Family members, but he remains on the shelf with a torn biceps injury.
