Standing atop the entrance ramp, soaking up support from the WWE Universe, Becky Lynch possesses an unsurpassed confidence to match her finely honed athleticism.

Real name Rebecca Quin, Lynch grew up in Dublin, Ireland playing basketball, swimming and horseback riding. But, at a young age, Lynch showed a propensity for submission competition — a characteristic she’s channeled into her painful armbar maneuver, the Dis-arm-her.

Lynch began training for a career in professional wrestling in 2002. Initially wrestling in Ireland under the ring name Rebecca Knox, she competed across Europe and North America for various independent promotions. She most notably competed in Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling and became the inaugural SuperGirls Champion in 2005. In 2006, Lynch suffered a severe head injury during a match which kept her away from wrestling for several years. She returned to the ring in 2012 and signed a developmental contract with WWE a year later.

Initially competing in NXT, Lynch became a shining light in the Divas Revolution with Sasha Banks and Charlotte. Soon after debuting on Raw in July 2015, Lynch had a falling out with them, leading to a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 32. Falling short of her goal — winning the newly branded WWE Women’s Championship — only rebranded Lynch’s determination to prove herself as the world’s best professional wrestler.

Drafted to SmackDown in July 2016, Lynch fought her way to the top to become the inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion on September 11, 2016 at WWE Backlash. She lost the title 84 days later to Alexa Bliss in a SmackDown Women’s Championship Tables Match at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2016.

Despite repeated efforts to climb back to the top of the SmackDown mountain, Lynch continually fell short. However, rallying the WWE Universe behind her, she made regaining the SmackDown Women’s Championship — now held by Charlotte Flair — her obsession. Lynch defeated Flair for the title at WWE Hell in a Cell 2018. She emphasized her dominance over her former friend in a brutal Last Woman Standing Match at WWE Evolution, the company’s first-ever all-women pay-per-view event.

WWE advertised Lynch to face Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey in a non-title Champion vs. Champion Match at Survivor Series 2018, but an injury to Lynch caused by Nia Jax forced her  to drop out. She was soon back in action, proclaiming herself “The Man” and the best Superstar in all of WWE, despite having lost the title to Asuka in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match at WWE TLC 2018. “The Man” would not be stopped; she tore through the women’s division like a hurricane, winning the 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match at Royal Rumble 2019 to earn an opportunity to challenge for a World Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Lynch made history by headlining WrestleMania 35 in a Winner Take All Match against Rousey and Flair for both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships. Emerging victorious, Lynch held her titles high, proclaiming herself “Becky 2 Belts.” The WWE Universe found a new hero in Becky Lynch.

Lynch would go on to become the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion in history, fending off challenges from Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans and any other WWE Superstar who was brazen enough to stand in her way. Her reign came to an end on May 11, 2020 when Lynch announced on Raw that she was pregnant and relinquished her cherished prize.

Lynch returned in epic fashion at SummerSlam 2021, entering the ring after WWE officials deemed Banks unable to challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. “The Man” knocked would-be replacement Carmella out of the ring and overcome “The EST of WWE” in an impromptu match to become a five-time Women’s Champion. Two months later, Lynch proved that her star was burning as bright as ever when Raw drafted her with the first pick in the 2021 WWE Draft.
