Bobby Lashley came on Submission Radio for a chat on this weeks episode.
When it comes to TNA getting cancelled Bobby thought if anyone leaves it’s going to be TNA leaving to go somewhere else โIn my contract it says nothing about negotiating deals with any networks, so I try to stay out of that part of it. I know what Dixie [Carter] does, and Dixie is good at trying to find the right path for where she needs to have the show. You know, theyโve been around for 12 years. I donโt think theyโre going anywhere right now, whether itโs Destination America, Spike, or whatever it is. Iโm sure theyโre going to be able to reach an agreement, reach a deal where theyโre going to have a home, and theyโre going to be there for a long time. If they leave Destination America I think it would be a shame because of the amount of talent that we have on that show. I mean for the people that watch TNA, they know the kind of talent. I mean thereโs some really big names there. I mean you got the Hardy Boyz, you got Kurt Angle, myself, MVP. Thereโs a lot of really high – Bobby Roode, Eric Young. Thereโs a lot of really, really good – Kennedy – over there. I mean thereโs so many guys over there that it would be…..if they do die, there would be another promotion somewhere thatโs just ready to scoop up all these guys and already have a main level roster right off the bat. So I donโt know. I donโt see it happening. It’d be ridiculous for them to part ways. If anybody leaves itโs going to be TNA leaving to go somewhere else.โ
WWE NXT has taken the world by storm and when asked about the show Bobby expressed that while he liked it he’d like to see more WWE veterans hired for the program โI think itโs great. I think what theyโre doing down there is great. Theyโre building some guys up so those guys learning how to be superstars and do some big things, and when they do come up to the main roster, they’re ready because they do get a little bit of superstar status when they’re there because they have a TV channel and everything like that. The only thing that I wish that they would do is that thereโs a lot of guys out right now that they could really use to kind of mix into their program that I think would give those guys even bigger boosts. You have guys like Shelton Benjamin, you have Chris Masters, Carlito, you have John Morrison, you have a lot of really, really good guys out there, but they’re like “No. Weโre not going to touch those guys because we really want to develop these younger guys”. I understand that, but I think [Hurricane] Helms said it best, itโs like you canโt go to a professional game and not have some of the professionals out there. And I think what they have going on right now they have some really good names, I think they should just kind of mix it up a little bit more. And then another thing is I think they should use some of the guys that are out there right now, instead of these guys travelling around the world, independent promotions all over the place. Youโve already built these guys up, might as well use them to boost your guys and then give them an honourable retirement after the deal?โ
While on the program Submission Radio had to find out what the biggest difference between working for Vince and Dixie was Bobby explained โI think Vince is more of a business man and Dixie is more of a like a family person. Dixie kind of stays away from the business aspect and lets the people run the company, but at the same time Dixie is so big on the family, and I have no problem brining my kids there, bringing them backstage, meeting the guys and everything like that. She wants it to be more of a family environment. Whereas Vince, itโs business. Itโs really business in the WWE. I mean both of them have their great qualities, but I think thatโs the big difference between the two.โ
Finally a man of few words Lashley was asked if he’d consider returning to the WWE for one last run before it’s all said and done…Lashely’s response “sure”.

Thoughts on WWE NXT and why WWE need to use past superstars more on the show:
โI think itโs great. I think what theyโre doing down there is great. The rumours that TNA is getting cancelled from Destination America and if Bobby has heard any more news on it, being TNAโs biggest star:
โIn my contract it says nothing about negotiating deals with any networks, so I try to stay out of that part of it. I know what Dixie [Carter] does, and Dixie is good at trying to find the right path for where she needs to have the show. You know, theyโve been around for 12 years. Difference between working with Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter:
โI think Vince is more of a business man and Dixie is more of a like a family person. Dixie kind of stays away from the business aspect and lets the people run the company, but at the same time Dixie is so big on the family, and I have no problem bringing my kids there, bringing them backstage, meeting the guys and everything like that. She wants it to be more of a family environment. Whereas Vince, itโs business. Itโs really business in the WWE. I mean both of them have their great qualities, but I think thatโs the big difference between the two.โ
If Bobby Lashley is interested in one last run in the WWE before itโs all said and done:
โSureโ
How difficult it was working a pro wrestling match with Vince McMahon (Lashley had to wrestle with him a number of times):
โNo I think itโs very, easy because he gets it more than other people. Because a lot of times you deal with him, you donโt go after him first, he goes after you. So heโs going to show you what kind of pace that he wants, heโs gonna show you how stiff itโs gonna be and how hard itโs gonna be. So after that, you just gotta reciprocate. You gotta give it back the same way he did it to you. So I think itโs very simple working with him, and he told me too, heโs like “you know, youโll have your time”, and I was like “okay. When my time comes, my times gonna come”.โ
