Booker T On How Much Longer He Thinks The Undertaker Will Continue To Wrestle, Not Wrestling Shawn Michaels During His Career

Booker T

On the latest edition of Heated Conversations, Booker T offers his thoughts on The Undertaker’s future in wrestling and never getting the opportunity to wrestle Shawn Michaels in a singles match during his career. Highlights are as follows:

The Undertakerโ€™s eventual retirement:

Heโ€™s battle-tested, bruised, heโ€™s battered, and he [has] been out of the game for quite some time. And he [has] been in the WWE for over 20 years solid. This guy [has] been in all of the big matches as far as the Hell In A Cell, every match you could possibly, exactly, you could think of, Undertaker has been there. And the thing is, he [has] held up. He has gone in there and he [has] pulled it off each and every year heโ€™s asked to go out and perform and I commend Undertaker for that. But I tell you, thereโ€™s going to be a day Undertaker has to lay down and say, โ€˜Iโ€™m done with itโ€™. Thereโ€™s going to be that time when he goes into that casket and closes the lid on the career.

How much longer he thinks The Undertaker will continue to wrestle:

Whoโ€™s to say how long he can go? The mind can push the body so much further than you actually can imagine it can go. And I think thatโ€™s what The Undertaker is dealing with right now. I just saw him on Tuesday at SmackDown and The Undertaker is alive and well. Heโ€™s up and walking. And I think as long as The Undertaker is alive and well and up and walking, weโ€™re going to continue to see him at WrestleMania do his thing. And the thing is he [has] had his injuries. Everybody knows it. He [has] gone through surgeries after surgeries after surgeries. Exactly and I just saw him and the thing is, I was talking to him about WrestleMania and he goes, โ€˜hey man, I could have got it worked on a little bit more, but I got to be there for the big show.’

On never getting a chance to wrestle Shawn Michaels in a singles match:

The fish that got away was Shawn Michaels. Thatโ€™s the only guy I didnโ€™t get a chance to get in there with one-on-one and actually perform with because I always thought Shawn Michaels, even from back when he was with The Rockers, with Marty Jannetty, when they first started, when I first saw Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, I said, โ€˜man, this Shawn Michaels is good.โ€™ I said, โ€˜this guy [has] got a lot of talent.โ€™ Marty Jannetty, โ€˜yeah, heโ€™s alright. Heโ€™s a good hand. Heโ€™s solid. This Michaels, this guyโ€™s good.โ€™ Then, over the years, he morphed into something that was called โ€˜Mr. WrestleManiaโ€™. And I always wanted to get a chance to get out there and perform with Shawn Michaels just to see how good I really was. Well, I just thought, I wouldnโ€™t say that [Michaels was the measuring stick]. Do you know what I mean, me being a performer myself? I just wanted to see if he was as good or if I was as good as I thought I was because I always thought I was just as good as any guy that ever put on a pair of boots and youโ€™ve got to think that way. But Shawn Michaels, he was the guy I didnโ€™t get to test my craft with. I wouldโ€™ve loved to get in the ring with him.
