Former WWE Superstar CM Punk appeared on his friend Colt Cabana’s podcast, “Art of Wrestling,” Thursday evening to finally tell his side of the story behind him departing WWE. Questions remained around Punk’s status with the company, and as to whether he quit when he walked out or if he was fired.
Punk revealed he was two days away from his wedding day with former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee, and he received a text from Triple H, the real-life WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. He had had little to no contact from everyone in WWE, and had only been attempting to get in contact with them to get his royalty checks that were two months behind.
He said he told Triple H he would reach out to him after his honeymoon, provided he get the royalty checks. The next day, he received a surprise.
“The day of my wedding, I got a FedEx in the mail. It was my termination papers. I was fired.”
Punk reiterated:
“I was fired on my wedding day. Very calculated, very deliberate.”
The termination papers claimed he was in breach of contract as of Jan. 27, despite the fact he received the papers in June. He said he knew this was not a legal claim, since a company cannot claim retro-breach of contract.
He ultimately revealed there is never going to be relations between he and WWE again primarily because of being fired on his wedding day.
The lone contact Punk had with WWE was done in order to settle his royalties dispute, which he claims he won handily.

resulting in the accidental exposure of her private regions over the course of her career as an on-screen performer for WWE.
Most notably, the sports-entertainment executive had not one, not two, but three wardrobe malfunctions in the weeks preceding
WrestleMania X8 in 2002.
As part of a storyline, Stephanie and Triple H divorced after Stephanie claimed to be pregnant in order to trick her
husband into renewing their marital vows. Hunter had discovered that she was lying and left her at the altar during their
renewal ceremony on Raw on February 11, 2002. For the event, Stephanie flaunted her substantial cleavage in a
low-cut wedding dress that even father Vince couldn't help but notice. At the conclusion of the renewal ceremony,
Stephanie's bare breast was briefly exposed on-camera after she was shoved to the canvas by an infuriated Triple H. To add
further embarrassment, Stephanie suffered a nip slip the following month during a SmackDown! in Cleveland, Ohio.
Having gone braless, Stephanie's nipple accidentally slipped out from under a loose-fitting leather garment while Triple H
attempted to Pedigree on the announcers table. While her brief display of nudity was not shown on the television broadcast
on UPN, footage of the incident, swiped from WWE's satellite feed, hit the web.
In October 2002, Stephanie addressed her pair of wardrobe malfunctions during a candid interview with The Howard Stern Show.
"It was really an accident. I was horrified," Stephanie said to Howard Stern in response to those wardrobe malfunctions
were planned ahead of time. "If I had planned to do something like that, that's one thing, but when it sorta happens and
you're not planning on it, it's a little unnerving."
Stephanie's bare butt was also exposed during this time frame. On the March 11, 2002 episode of Raw, her buttocks
was accidentally exposed after Triple H gripped her pants and thong upon seizing her during a chase. The program was
rebroadcast in February 2008 on WWE 24/7 On Demand with her ass digitized.
On the contrary, Stephanie was scripted to suffer a wardrobe malfunction on the January 1, 2001 edition of Raw.
During an in-ring segment with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, "The Texas Rattlesnake" pulled a vendor tray off of "The Billion
Dollar Princess," ripping her blouse off to reveal her bra. Then, as Stephanie headed backstage, Austin cracked, "There's
more foam in that bra than there was in those beers!"
