On the first Raw of 2015, The Authority forced Dolph Ziggler to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Bad News Barrett, which he initially won. Ziggler was then viciously attacked, with Barrett injuring his shoulder. Kane then appeared and said the match would continue as a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match, Barrett proceeded to defeat Ziggler for the title after Kane distracted him, ending Ziggler's reign at twenty-two days. Later on that night, Ziggler alongside Ryback and Erick Rowan were fired by The Authority after John Cena was forced to reinstate The Authority the previous week as punishment for insubordination. Hence, all three have moved to the WWE Alumni section.
While Ziggler's title loss played into his on-screen firing, it was in part factored by a behind-the-scenes issue. WWE officials are upset with him for booking a stand-up comedy gig without informing them first.

The prospect of seeing Stephanie McMahon in a state of undress is enough to make your average wrestling fan's head spin. Naturally, many grappling aficionado have dreamt of the brunette starlet following in the footsteps of Maria Kanellis, Ashley Massaro, Candice Michelle, Christy Hemme, Torrie Wilson, Chyna and Sable by posing nude for Playboy. In 2002, Vince McMahon's daughter addressed the topic after being asked during a chat session with fans whether she would ever pose for the renowned publication.
"I don't know, at this point in my life, probably not. But who knows in the future," Stephanie stated during a chat session on MSN.com on November 14, 2002.
With WWE's brand of family-friendly, TV-PG broadcast programming and Stephanie reigning as the organization's Chief Brand Officer, it pretty much goes without saying that that ship has sailed. She was, however, complementary of WWE's prior partnership with Playboy in the 2014 hardcover book, WWE 50.
"Anytime we can expand our reach outside of our audience in a place our audience is not normally found is a good thing for the WWE brand," said McMahon. "It brings new eyeballs onto our programming: it gets people interested. Sable and Chyna doing Playboy was one of those times because suddenly we were mainstream. We were competing in a space that we had never been in before."
