Nearly one year after making her main roster debut on the May 27, 2011 episode of SmackDown, AJ was pivotal in the outcome
of the World Heavyweight Championship Match at WrestleMania XXVIII with a kiss to her beau, Daniel Bryan.
The couple's consequential breakup sent AJ into an emotional tailspin, and she has continued to develop
crushes on WWE's top grapplers, namely Kane and CM Punk.

Background: AJ Lee was born on March 19, 1987 in Union City, New Jersey. Her real name is April
Jeanette Mendez and she is of Puerto Rican heritage. She attended New York University's Tisch School of the
Arts in New York City, where she majored in Film and Television production. While attending college, she enrolled in a
wrestling school one mile away from her New Jersey residence.
