Alberto Del Rio On When He Plans To Retire and His Future Goals, Has No Comment On WWE Star

Alberto Del Rio

Since returning to WWE, Alberto Del Rio has transitioned from a focal point in the main event scene to a veteran name wrestler more likely to put younger talent over. During a recent promotional tour of India, the four-time WWE Champion mapped out his career timeline with one more specific goal in mind before he officially hangs up his boots.

“I want to become champion one more time, and there is one more title I would need to win in WWE to say, ‘I have won all the titles you have to win in this company’ which is the Intercontinental title,” Del Rio said in an interview with SportsKeeda.com. “Once it’s done, I think I am ready to say goodbye to the sport.”

As far as when he’ll retire from wrestling, Del Rio does’t see himself wrestling beyond 2021 — he will be 44-years-old at the point.

“I think I have three to five more years in wrestling, and I am hoping I spend all those years in WWE,” he said.”

During the interview, he was asked to say the first thing that comes to mind about the following WWE Superstars. However, when asked about Seth Rollins, he declined to comment.

Shinsuke Nakamura: Amazing talent.

Kevin Owens: Strong wrestler (laughs and said he wanted to say something else).

Dean Ambrose: One of his favorite opponents.

Enzo and Big Cass: The best tag team at the moment.

Sasha Banks: Beautiful girl.

Bray Wyatt: One of his best friends.
