Apollo Crews Replaces Enzo Amore In WWE Mixed Match Challenge, To Team With Nia Jax

With Enzo Amore no longer in WWE Mixed Match Challenge, Apollo Crews is replacing him in the tournament and he will team with Nia Jax.

The pairing was announced today after Raw General Manager Kurt Angle tweeted earlier in the week that Amore would have to be replaced. Amore missed Raw last Monday, where he was supposed to defend his Cruiserweight Championship against Cedric Alexander, due to being hospitalized with the flu and wasn’t on 205 Live on Tuesday.

The storyline in the video where Jax’s partner is revealed is that she’s disappointed to be teaming with Crews and gets annoyed with Titus Worldwide.

On the pairing, WWE.com states:

Crews has found new life since aligning himself with Titus Worldwide, as the partnership has armed the grappler with a great deal of momentum. Crews replaces Enzo Amore in the revolutionary competition after the WWE Cruiserweight Champion took ill with the flu. Despite Crews’ enormous enthusiasm, however, Jax doesn’t appear over-excited at the prospect of their new union.

An intimidating tour-de-force inside the squared circle, Nia initially entertained the hope of forming a dominant tag team with the likes of Braun Strowman, who was instead paired up with her best friend Alexa Bliss. Considering their rocky start, can Jax and Crews can get on the same page and make an effective run to win the Mixed Match Challenge?
