Brock Lesnar Wins The Universal Championship At WWE Crown Jewel

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is once again the Universal Champion.

Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman at WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to win the vacant Universal Championship. The story of the match was Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin hitting Strowman with the Universal Championship before the bell rang and Strowman kicking out of three F5s before losing.

In the opening moments of Raw last week, Roman Reigns announced that he has been living with leukemia for 11 years and the disease’s return would force him to relinquish the Universal Championship and take a leave of absence from WWE.

It was announced during Crown Jewel that Lesnar will face WWE Champion AJ Styles in a non-title Champion vs. Champion Match at Survivor Series on November 18. Lesnar also beat Styles in a Champion vs. Champion Match at last year’s Survivor Series.

What this means for Lesnar’s future in the UFC remains to be seen. Daniel Cormier will defend the UFC Heavyweight Championship against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Lesnar will be eligible to fight again on January 8, 2019.
