How Did Fandango Get Injured?

Fandango

Fandango is currently out of action after undergoing surgery on July 11 to repair a labrum tear in his left shoulder. The Raw Superstar provided the following update that day to his Twitter followers, noting that the support he has received has been “overwhelming.”

While no timetable has officially been set for his return, Fandango speculated in a tweet that he could be out of action for six months.

The injury occurred on June 11 on Raw during a tag team match where Fandango and Tyler Breeze faced Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. With Fandango down on the mat, McIntyre powerbombed Breeze onto his left shoulder.

Breeze indicated on Instagram last week that this is how Fandango got injured by posting a clip of the spot.

The finish of the match saw Ziggler come in for a big superkick to Breeze as McIntyre held him by his hair. McIntyre and Ziggler then wiped out Fandango with a combo of the Claymore Kick and Zig-Zag, and Ziggler covered Fandango for the pinfall victory.

Fandango responded to Breeze’s post by writing, “U should have picked @heelziggler to tag w ….”

Breeze responded, “hahaha nah.”

Despite the injury, Fandango wrestled seven more matches before taking time off to undergo surgery. He last wrestled on June 25 in a match taped for WWE Main Event, teaming with Breeze and Bobby Roode in a victory over Curt Hawkins and The Ascension.

After undergoing surgery, Fandango has to wear a huge bandage over his shoulder. He revealed this in an Instagram post on Friday of him and his girlfriend on vacation in Maine to celebrate his birthday.

Fandango turned 37 years old on Sunday.

Wishing a very Happy Birthday to @wwefandango!
