Cesaro

Cesaro

Should you hear sirens, please seek shelter, because Cesaro is on his way.

Portrayed by WWE as an ex-European rugby star who was banned from league play due to excessive hostility, Cesaro applied his mercilessness in the squared circle, honing his skills not just in Europe but around the globe. Upon arriving in the United States, he developed a cult following on the independent wrestling scene displaying his merciless skills in both singles and tag team competition alike.

This brutally innovative European wrestler is not all brawn. The refined Swiss native speaks five languages, allowing him to adapt to his surroundings while venturing the world en route to WWE.

Upon his arrival to WWE’s main roster in the spring of 2012, Cesaro immediately backed up his multilingual trash talk, racking up wins and capturing the United States Championship. Along the way, Cesaro’s no-nonsense style won over its fair share of grappling aficionados, including radical manager Zeb Colter, who recruited Cesaro and paired him with Jack Swagger to form The Real Americans. Though the patriotic tandem found success in the ranks of tag team competition, frequent miscommunications gave way to an irreparable fissure at WrestleMania 30 — the same evening that Cesaro won the inaugural Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The following night on Raw, Cesaro dumped Colter and revealed himself to be a “Paul Heyman Guy.”

Their affiliation appeared promising at first, despite Heyman’s insistence on spending a lot of time talking about his other client, the wrestler who conquered The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30, Brock Lesnar. On the July 21 episode of Raw Cesaro said he no longer considered himself a “Paul Heyman Guy.”

With ridiculous raw strength and one of the most sophisticated arsenals in all of professional wrestling, there’s no telling how far “The King of Swing” will go in WWE.

Cesaro Arrives To WWE (2012)

Cesaro first appeared on WWE programming on the April 20, 2012 edition of SmackDown in a backstage segment with Theodore Long, who was acting as the assistant to Raw and SmackDown General Manager John Laurinaitis, and Aksana. Within the WWE Universe, the multilingual Cesaro served in the Swiss militia, before embarking on a career in rugby that ended with him being barred for “excessive aggression.” On the following week’s show, Cesaro handily beat Tyson Kidd in a contest billed as a tryout match. The following month, Aksana revealed that she and Cesaro were a couple. Cesaro suffered his first loss on July 3, 2012 on SuperSmackDown LIVE: The Great American Bash when he and Aksana were defeated by The The Great Khali and Layla in a Mixed Tag Team Match. Cesaro, though, was not pinned.
