A Look Back At Mickie James’ Porn Past

Mickie James is highly regarded by wrestling fans for her knockout looks and stellar grappling ability, and rightly so. Like many female wrestlers to pass through WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (abbreviated as TNA Wrestling or TNA), she has posed nude. In her case, she made Playboy nudity seem tame by comparison.

She posted this photo on Instagram on May 23, 2025, and wrote, “#tbt (kiss mark emoji),” which translates to “throwback Thursday.” With James, it’s often hard to pinpoint her non-wrestling photos by year. While attempting to make a name for herself on the independent wrestling circuit in the early 2000s, this future WWE Diva and TNA Knockout did a photo shoot for Leg Show — an adult fetish magazine specializing in photographs of women in nylons, corsets, pantyhose, stockings and high heels — featuring hardcore nudity.

For the pictorial, which was published in the May 2000 issue, James spread open her legs, spread open her butt and even featured finger penetration. This photo shoot captured James from just about every angle possible as she held nothing back and let everything be seen —literally. Her name is not mentioned, as she’s only referred to as a pro wrestler. She did the photo shoot alongside a young muscular male portraying a pro wrestler — likely a pornographic model. James was posing erotically by the male wrestler — the male wrestler kept his clothes on.

The pornographic pictorial would come back to bite James in the butt after she hit the big time with WWE. As you would expect, the photos spread on various wrestling websites and message boards shortly after she was called up to the main roster. It has been rumored that she threatened to sue a website that had published the photos, ordering its removal, but the threat was ultimately futile as the pictorial continues to linger online in the darker corners of the World Wide Web.

In September 2008, James was asked about her pornographic past during a radio show interview promoting WWE’s “SmackDown Your Vote” campaign. The hosts of The ITD Morning After, a radio show based out of St. Louis, Missouri, discovered that James had posed nude while doing research on her and asked her about it. James, who always speaks in a clear manner, didn’t seem to know what to say while responding to their question.

James performed this provocative hand gesture in April 2006 during a match against Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 22. The highly explicit taunt was directed at Trish immediately following a planned crotch-grab maneuver. After grabbing Stratus’ crotch, James formed a “V” sign with her fingers and placed her tongue suggestively between them.

Since the gesture was deemed too hot for TV, WWE edited it off the pay-per-view replay loop, home video release and the streaming version. However, footage of this infamous incident remains online and you can see it on Instagram (for now).

James said, “Well, umm, I think that uh… I mean, I’ve been doing this 11 years (11 years is in reference to how long she had been wrestling by 2008) and I think that, uh you know everybody… like I said before, everybody comes from different backgrounds and they, you know… I don’t… I don’t think that… that…”

James was then asked by the hosts whether she “did it” and responded, “That… (pauses) Well… I mean, you know what? It’s… it’s kind of hard to say… like I may … I have done … I did some different stuff in my past, but I don’t think that makes or breaks who I am today.”

This awkward interview quickly ends, with the hosts noting afterward that they actually didn’t do much research on the subject of nude photos. They typed her name on Google, which led to her article on Wikipedia—the top-ranking result — mentioning that she had posed nude. The hosts then pondered whether James was prepared for the question (obviously not) and if she was trying to put it behind her.

And that’s not all. Mickie did a second similar photo shoot, but with the setting taking place outside rather than in a bedroom. She is featured on the cover of the July 2001 issue of Naughty Neighbors, which is labeled “The Original Amateur Magazine.” She was either 20 or 21 years old when the photo shoot took place.

Mickie’s photo shoot for Naughty Neighbors largely took place in a wooded area near a home. The title headline on the cover reads: “Covergirl Alexis: Naughty girlfriend bares shaved slit in public.” Alexis Laree was her name on the independent circuit, a name she created as the result of a combination of her stage name from when she was a dancer and her middle name, which is Laree.

So why did Mickie pose for these naughty photos? She was supplementing low pay from wrestling on the independent circuit. She was also working as a waitress at Olive Garden while wrestling. WWE eventually signed James to a developmental contract in late 2003 and she began appearing on Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) television in January 2004.
